Every day we make promises to each other – fix a roof, pay a bill, sell an item in good condition. When we are wronged the law can protect us.
Your Justice of the Peace can ensure accountability.
Children and families need JP1 now more than ever
Children and families need JP1 now more than ever
Chronic student absenteeism in Texas nearly doubled after the pandemic and still hasn't recovered. EPISD alone lost $25.9 million last year. Texas lawmakers are taking notice. JP1 needs to be ready.
Our families and schools will need all the help they can get. We can connect families with real support and hold ourselves accountable for results.
Effective justice doesn't end with judgement

You might think that when a gavel falls on a court case, that's all there is to it.
However, we can do more – more to connect people with resources that address what's really going wrong, not just impose fines.
El Pasoans deserve a JP1 they can trust
El Pasoans deserve a JP1 they can trust
Justice of the Peace courts are the people's court—the closest to our community, and for many, the only court they'll ever encounter.
In a moment when many El Pasoans fear any courthouse, we must provide a trusted, accessible place to resolve disputes—including extended hours so working people can attend without losing a day's pay.
Moving Forward Together
These four priorities represent my vision for what JP1 can be: a court that serves businesses and individuals with fairness and efficiency; that helps children and families get the support they need; that doesn't just impose judgments but connects people with solutions; and that earns the trust of every El Pasoan through transparency, accessibility, and respect.
Why My Background Matters
I know firsthand how quickly life can change and how much second chances matter. I dropped out of high school my senior year, earned my GED, and worked in corporate America and small business before returning to education—eventually graduating summa cum laude from Texas Tech and earning my law degree from Mitchell Hamline while teaching full-time in El Paso.
That journey shaped who I am today: an attorney, an educator, and a trained mediator who understands the challenges JP1 litigants face from many perspectives.

My Commitment to You
When you think about it, there are no small claims in JP1, only big impacts on real lives. Evictions, debt collection, truancy, traffic violations—these cases decide whether families keep their homes, their cars, their livelihoods.
This is not my retirement plan, nor is it my next step up the political ladder. I am running to ensure that JP1 remains a trusted place to resolve disputes, rectify mistakes, and receive just treatment.
